I finally finished the 2 stockings I’ve been working on. They’re made for a lady at my church. I washed them and dried them. Which is ok since they’re made with acrylic yarn. I had hoped it would soften them up a bit but it didn’t do it as much as I’d wanted. But once they’re used they should (I hope) soften more. Of course i’m nervous that the lady who asked me to make them will not like them or not want to pay what i’m asking… we’ll see tomorrow.
If you’re wanting to make a stocking but one that isn’t so involved as a color worked one. I wrote a pattern up last year for a toe up striped stocking (ravelry link) I’d love for you to buy the pattern and knit yourself a stocking. Here’s a quote from ravelry “This festive and lovely stocking will light up anyone’s fireplace. Use it as wrapping for your holiday gifts or let it be your gift. This pattern used bulky weight and is knit tightly for a sturdy fabric. No felting and no lining needed!” You can purchase it right through Ravelry and store it in your library.

Sunday we went to a baby shower. I knit up this clever little hat for the baby. I was lucky that I’d started Friday night at Knitting Night Out, to show how to knit magic loop style. I used my fave go to baby knit hat. Designed by my sister, Jessica aka Naturally Knitty. The pattern is her Baby Pixy Hat . (rav link) It’s a free download. This hat is what I came up with. I used Mission Falls 1824 wool. It’s super wash so superb for a baby. The momma and daddy of the new baby loved it. So i’m happy! I hope it fits him when he arrives (any day now)
Today I started another hat today. With some yarn I found at walmart. i’m doing the girl version as the baby (hopefully born today) will be a girl. I hope to have it finished by Thursday. I’m not really worried b/c the pattern is a quick knit.
off to knit!

I have been busy lately. I know, I know that’s not a good excuse though for not writing. This past week I sewed some pants for the Bead. I sewed some patches on them so that they wouldn’t all look the same. I also did different pockets for the pants. Not to mention the patches are just so freakin’ cute! I found this shiny jeans material and some corduroy material at walmart for pretty cheap so it didn’t cost too much. I just realized when I changed her clothes that she didn’t have too many pants and that is something I can take care of.
also we had her 4th Birthday! At her b-day we had a pinata an played pin the tail on the donkey. The kiddos had fun! The bead got some stuff that she really wanted, like the baby Alive doll that Learns to potty, a bike, some littlest pet shop toys and a laptop coloring desk. She’s loving it all. In fact she’s playing with the coloring stuff now.. got keep an eye out she doesn’t migrate to the walls…. SIGH.
